Get/Set NBT tag with bukkit plugin in cauldron?

I'm not sure if this is in the right place, I tried at the bukkit forums and they directed me to the cauldron forums where I was then directed here so hopefully it is lol.

 

I'm working on a mod and plugin combo with a group and I'm trying to find a way for the plugin to get and change a custom NBT tag created by the mod. the tag is race, and is one of 4 strings. We're using cualdron for 1.7.2, is it even possible? and if so could anyone point me in the right direction?
