I want to create my own ingame overlay, removing the existing one, but I am having 1 slight annoyance. When ever a chat message pop's up (or if the chat gui is active) the transparent background of my drawn textured rectangle gets filled in with a black color.

 

My render event class:

I might be missing something in my event class, if you know what I am missing, please do tell.
