all mods that I've created, none works

package com.mymod.base;

import net.minecraft.block.Block;
import net.minecraft.init.Blocks;
import net.minecraft.init.Items;
import net.minecraft.item.Item;
import net.minecraft.item.ItemStack;
import cpw.mods.fml.common.Mod;
import cpw.mods.fml.common.Mod.EventHandler;
import cpw.mods.fml.common.event.FMLInitializationEvent;
import cpw.mods.fml.common.event.FMLPreInitializationEvent;
import cpw.mods.fml.common.registry.GameRegistry;

@Mod(modid = Base.MODID, version = Base.VERSION)
public class Base {
public static final String MODID = "myMod";
public static final String VERSION = "0.0.1";

@EventHandler
public void preInit(FMLPreInitializationEvent event){
	GameRegistry.addRecipe(new ItemStack(Blocks.diamond_block), new Object[]{
		 "xxx",
		 "xxx",
		 "xxx",
			'x', Blocks.dirt
	});
}

@EventHandler
public void init(FMLInitializationEvent event){

}
}
