Hi guys!

I was wondering how to change the armor item and model textures for the standard diamond armor in minecraft. If of course, it is possible. I don't have any code to work with, this is just a theoretical question because i'm looking at implementing it in the future.

I think that if you're just changing the texture you don't need to make a mod at all.  Minecraft textures are kept in accessible folders and you can just replace the assets with your own without any coding.  Look up how to make a texture pack (also called resource pack).

Check out my tutorials here: http://jabelarminecraft.blogspot.com/

You mention Model.  Do you want a custom model for the armor?

You could make a resource pack as jabelar said.. or if you neccessary have to code it in just make a new armor which got same stats and uses your textures then remove the vanilla recipe and replace with recipe for your item.
