How do I install Forge on Windows 8?

The auto-installer does not play well with version of Windows I upgraded to, Win 8.1 PRO.

 

I have already installed Minecraft 1.7.wev and have played it for several dozen hours, but miss the map mod I used to have.

 

Simply listing the directory to dump the contents of the unzipped files should be all the help I need, I can't look at the file structure in Win 7 because I upgraded software, not computers.

 

Tyvm for your assistance in this matter.

 

Also, I'll see if I can figure out what the other gent meant when he talks about Forge "chokes" when dl'ing files, since he was talking about Win8 PRO
