July 26, 201411 yr Hi In general, if you're getting purple and black it's because your texture name is wrong or the texture filename is wrong. This link might help. http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php/topic,18371.msg92948.html#msg92948 It may not be anything to do with double-block plants. -TGG
July 27, 201411 yr Okay, the code you posted doesn't seem to have anything for double-height plants. So if you're getting texture problems you should fix those first. You need to confirm you have proper texture files with exactly the right names in the right asset location, and those files need to be properly recognized by Eclipse as part of your project. Can you show screen shot of your assets package structure and file names? For a double-height block it is probably best to create a separate block for the top part. So the bottom part will grow and then when it finishes growing it should place the top block on top of itself, then the top should grow. You can check if the block is finished growing in the incrementGrowStage() method of the bottom block, if the growthStage is >= 7 it is finished growing. Alternatively you can associate a tile entity with the bottom block and it can check to see about growing the top block. Check out my tutorials here: http://jabelarminecraft.blogspot.com/
July 31, 201411 yr Okay, one problem is that a crop has 8 growth stages so needs 8 icons. Right now if your growth stage is more than 4 it won't have a texture. Not sure if that is your problem, but it would be a problem so you should fix it. So I think you should correct the registerBlockIcon() methods to have 8 icons registered. Try this in your corn class: @Override @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public void registerBlockIcons(IIconRegister parIIconRegister) { iIcon = new IIcon[4]; iIcon[0] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":corn_0"); iIcon[1] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":corn_0"); iIcon[2] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":corn_1"); iIcon[3] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":corn_1"); iIcon[4] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":corn_2"); iIcon[5] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":corn_2"); iIcon[6] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":corn_3"); iIcon[7] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":corn_3"); } And your tomato like this: @Override @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public void registerBlockIcons(IIconRegister parIIconRegister) { iIcon = new IIcon[4]; // seems that crops like to have 8 growth icons, but okay to repeat actual texture if you want iIcon[0] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":tomato_0"); iIcon[1] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":tomato_0"); iIcon[2] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":tomato_1"); iIcon[3] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":tomato_1"); iIcon[4] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":tomato_2"); iIcon[5] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":tomato_2"); iIcon[6] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":tomato_3"); iIcon[7] = parIIconRegister.registerIcon(MainClass.MODID + ":tomato_3"); } Does that help at all? July 31, 201411 yr You also have to declare the proper size of the array. Change the line: iIcon = new IIcon[4]; to iIcon = new IIcon[8]; In both classes. Check out my tutorials here: http://jabelarminecraft.blogspot.com/
July 31, 201411 yr What's your code look like now? Are you getting any errors on the console? What do you mean by no texture? Nothing at all? Or the pink and black default texture? Check out my tutorials here: http://jabelarminecraft.blogspot.com/

August 1, 201411 yr Well, the error is pretty clear: Unable to parse metadata from itemsmod:textures/blocks/corn_0.png java.lang.RuntimeException: broken aspect ratio and not an animation It gives that error for most of you graphics. It seems to think that the image should have animation metadata -- for animated blocks like fluids I think there is supposed to be some .mcmeta file that goes with the image. However, for the crop the growing animation isn't done with an animated image, but instead swaps in separate images. So it should not be trying to do animated texture... Can you post the code for your ItemBlockCrops class? You may want to post separate help thread asking about the specific error message -- others may know better how to fix that. August 1, 201411 yr Well, the error is pretty clear: Unable to parse metadata from itemsmod:textures/blocks/corn_0.png java.lang.RuntimeException: broken aspect ratio and not an animation What that error actually means: Minecraft expects your icon to have the same height and width, for example 16 x 16. The only images which it will accept which don't follow this rule are animations. So it is telling you that the height and width of your icon don't match each other (that's what aspect ratio means), because you're not trying to do an animation. -TGG
August 2, 201411 yr I don't understand your question. Your initial question was about the black and purple texture. Have you fixed that yet? If not, post your error log again. -TGG
August 2, 201411 yr Author yea i wanna to make it to grow to 2 blocks Error in console : https://gist.github.com/CroComeT/6b02dd69e2f31b17179a
August 2, 201411 yr Step #1: make your icons 16x16 pixels each. If your icons are currently 16x32, split them into two separate 16x16 images. For example corn_0A.png and corn_0B.png Fix that, then try again and post us the result. -TGG
