How do I make blocks decay?

Hello im wondering if there is a way to make blocks decay after a random amount of time? Thanks

yes, there is.

 

And since you probably won't be happy with just that, have a look at the leave class which decays if it doesn't find wood.

And if you want to write a method yourself, use metadata to decrement until it hits zero, then decay the blocks.

And I don't see how this can even be a question, there obviously are ways.

Well I mean I knew there IS a way, I was just wondering what that was, But thanks for the help
