Emd4600 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Hi, I'm new to this forum and I wanted to start modding. So I was setting up Forge and everything was going well until I get into "downloadingClient". Then it stays some minutes and it crashes with a "java.net.SocketException: Connection reset" error. I tried disabling the firewall and keeps happening. What can I do? Thanks Quote
Emd4600 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 But it didn't because I can use internet even when it crashes. Quote
Tslat Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 You could just copy the client files over from your .minecraft folder Quote
Emd4600 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 Thanks, but where do I paste them? Quote
Emd4600 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 Or, at least, can Forge work if I use the complete folder of someone? Quote
Emd4600 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 Please, help me. I can't do anything without your help. Quote
Tslat Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 What happens if you run this: gradlew.bat clean setupDecompWorkspace --assetIndex 1.7.10 --assetsDir %userprofile%\.gradle\caches\minecraft\assets Quote
Emd4600 Posted August 27, 2014 Author Posted August 27, 2014 Unknown command-line option '--assetIndex' Quote
Tslat Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 And you downloaded the "1.7.10 Latest" from here: http://files.minecraftforge.net/ ?? Quote
Emd4600 Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Yes, I did. Now I tried downloading the source file and putting it to the correct directory but then it downloads it and it crashes again. How can I skip the downloadClient ? Quote
Tslat Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Download it manually, but I'm not entirely sure how it's meant to laid out when you do. I cleared mine so I can't check anymore lol. Are you able to do it on a different computer on a different network? You'll have to copy the assets folder from your .gradle folder to your current computer, and not the workspace. Quote
