Hello everyone!

I am trying to calculate the change in an energy value over a tick, but I cant seem to figure out how to do this. I am trying to do this because I want to be able to get how much is being generated, used or transmitted, and want to be able to display these values to the player.

Thanks for the help.

How do I save a value before a tick?

I mean, the block is constantly ticking, how do I save a variable in one tick, and then save a new variable on the next tick? because surely they would both be saved at the same time, so would have the same value.

make a field onPreviousTick and, at the end of the tick method, change that to the current value. Next tick you will have it handy and comparable to the new one (and so on..)

so onPreviousTick would go at the start of the updateEntity() method?

public void updateEntity()
{
    // DO YOUR OPERATIONS WITH onPreviousTick AND currentVariable
    onPreviousTick=currentValue;
}

What part do you not understand?
