Hello,

My question is that i want to have a sword to light on fire when you hit a mob, without enchanting it first.

Here's the code of my sword mod class:

And if needed, Here's the main mod class file:

Hope you can help me, Thanks!

put "@Override" above the method. Also, you are supposed to use an EntityLivingBase, not an EntityLiving

        @Override
public boolean hitEntity(ItemStack par1ItemStack, EntityLivingBase par2EntityLiving, EntityLivingBase par3EntityLiving)
{

	par1ItemStack.damageItem(1, par3EntityLiving);

	par2EntityLiving.setFire(10);

	return true;

}

I ask complicated questions, and apparently like to write really long detailed posts. But I also help others when I can.

Yeah, I realised that after I posted the reply, I have modified the reply now. He needs to use EntityLivingBase not EntityLiving.
