Making a mod that listens and prints through chat client side on multiplayer?

I'm new to minecraft modding but i'm basically looking to work with chat events and what have you to create something that can read on multiplayer what people say through chat and can output something through my multiplayer username. Which classes would this be under to edit? Also any tutorials that cover this? I couldn't find anything on it.
