I am having trouble generating ores

 

I found this (supposedly working example) and modified it for my ore and mod

 

package kintick.Minecraft.Ademantine.client;

 

 

import java.util.Random;

 

import net.minecraft.src.IChunkProvider;

import net.minecraft.src.World;

import net.minecraft.src.WorldGenMinable;

 

import cpw.mods.fml.common.IWorldGenerator;

 

public class GenericWorldGeneration implements IWorldGenerator {

 

        @Override

        public void generate(Random rand, int chunkX, int chunkZ, World world, IChunkProvider chunkGenerator, IChunkProvider chunkProvider) {

                for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) {

                        int randPosX = (chunkX*16) + rand.nextInt(16);

                        int randPosY = rand.nextInt(64);

                        int randPosZ = (chunkZ*16) + rand.nextInt(16);

                               

                        (new WorldGenMinable(Generic.adamantineOre.blockID, 6)).generate(world, rand, randPosX, randPosY, randPosZ);

                }

        }

}

 

 

and i've added it using these:

 

 

public static GenericWorldGeneration worldGen = new GenericWorldGeneration();

 

GameRegistry.registerWorldGenerator(worldGen);

 

 

yet when i go into a new world, I cannot find any of the ore, I've tried increasing the numbers, but still nothing.

 

Any help?

That is not how to do it with forge!

 

 

@kintick: Anyway, your code _should_ work. I have to look into this further with the WorldGenMineable class.

Also make sure you're generating only in the overworld dimension by checking this:

if(world.getWorldInfo().getDimension() == 0)

 

EDIT: Where do you register your WorldGenerator?

This thread makes me sad because people just post copy-paste-ready code when it's obvious that the OP has little to no programming experience. This is not how learning works.
