this is what metadata is, the getDamage on tools or something is the metadata counting up until it hits the tool material limit

so you will want to put a metadata inside of the block you want

thanks for all your replies, I know how to use Metadata already, but it only have store 16 different data, I would want to do it like how eloraam did it, using tile entity. The block will be an item with damage value first, then when placed it will change the texture and hitbox by the block tile entity
