Hi all, hope you can help with these new user questions.

 

1. Am I correct that Forge forces you to use an earlier version of Minecraft? The most recent Forge release seems to be for 1.8, and it seems to force you to run that version Is that true?

 

2. How do I go about uninstalling Forge from my computer? I am not looking to just switch profiles, as was suggested in other threads I found on here. I am looking to completely uninstall, delete, remove the files that the Forge installer places on my computer. There is no uninstaller with the download, and nothing registers in 'Add/Remove Programs'

    1. Yes, a forge version is for a specific minecraft version

     

    2. Go to your .minecraft folder, open the versions folder and delete the version you no longer want

    Awesome. Thanks for the info, and the additional bit about the versions. I didn't realize Forge essentially required a reverse engineering of the game. Impressive.
