Hi, I'm trying to use wither skeleton skulls in a crafting recipe and I can't get it to work. I've been searching on these forums and elsewhere, but I can't figure out how to make it work. Here's the code I have:

GameRegistry.addRecipe(new ItemStack(wither_pickaxe), new Object[]{ "WWW"," S "," S ",'W',new ItemStack(Blocks.skull,1,1),'S',Items.stick });

Sorry if there's another post about this I didn't see, and thanks for any help.

You need a custom IRecipe for that, as the specific skull data is saved in NBT.

This thread makes me sad because people just post copy-paste-ready code when it's obvious that the OP has little to no programming experience. This is not how learning works.

Thanks! I honestly have no idea how to go about checking for a shaped recipe match or checking for the correct damage value on ingredients. Could anyone help me out or point me in the right direction? I've looked through the ShapedRecipes class and I just can't figure out how it works. Once again, thanks for your help.

    • The crash points to moonlight lib - try other builds or make a test without this mod and the mods requiring it
    • Do you have shaders enabled? There is an issue with the mod simpleclouds - remove this mod or disable shaders, if enabled  
    • Maybe you need to create file in assets/<modid>/items/<itemname>.json with content like this:   { "model": { "type": "minecraft:model", "model": "modname:item/itemname" } }
