Posted March 29, 201510 yr I know I have been asking a lot today, but I have quite a few problems. How do I give an entity a texture that was loaded from an external source (A folder in the mods folder)?
March 29, 201510 yr You need an IResource implementation to load an external resource and add it to the defaultResourcePack. You may need some reflection stuff to reach the field. and I strongly recommend making your own folder in the minecraft directory, since putting in mods folder would break some mods. I. Stellarium for Minecraft: Configurable Universe for Minecraft! (WIP) II. Stellar Sky, Better Star Rendering&Sky Utility mod, had separated from Stellarium.
March 29, 201510 yr Author Call me a noob and what have you, but how could I do this? I have a class that implements IResource, but I see no direct link to the Default Resource Pack class other than the fact that that class also implements IResource.
March 29, 201510 yr It is the mcDefaultResourcePack field on Minecraft class. Since it is private, you need reflection for that. And there is FileResourcePack and FolderResourcePack, they would be useful for your needs. I. Stellarium for Minecraft: Configurable Universe for Minecraft! (WIP) II. Stellar Sky, Better Star Rendering&Sky Utility mod, had separated from Stellarium.
March 30, 201510 yr Author Ok, so I have successfully reflected mcDefaultResourcePack and have access to it, but I see no way of adding files to it without overwriting the existing ones.
March 30, 201510 yr Author Oh, I reflected the wrong field. I reflected Minecraft.class' instance of DefaultResourcePack
April 1, 201510 yr Author How do I reflect a list? I googled it, and all the questions are about reflecting the TYPE of list it is, not the actual list field itself.
