[1.7.10] Allow mobs to spawn on leaves?

Hi,

I'd like to make some jungle mobs able to spawn on leaves, but I'm not sure how. 

SpawnerAnimals

checks if the block below the mob being spawned has a solid top surface. Is there a way to let mobs spawn on leaves without making a coremod?
