Hi guys

 

Im a dad trying to help my son out. Ever since the latest release the game wont load.

 

The game version is 1.8.3

 

Ive updated to teh latest java. Wont work.

 

Ive read an article that states that there is a new launcher and it comes with its own stand alone java pack .

 

Ive downloaded that.

 

I uninstalled Java as instructed.

 

All that happens is that it downloads the run time

it downloads the launcher

The launcher then....launches

Hit play. it loops around back to teh play start screen

Well the latest version of minecraft is 1.8.3 so use that, see if that fixes it. if you're using forge then use minecraft 1.8, not 1.8.1 1.8.2 or 1.8.3

Anyways, it seems like there is a malformed .json file Minecraft tries to load.
