Posted April 12, 201510 yr I have been browsing the web for about 3 hours now and I still haven't found a way to add GUI to an item. I desperately need help here. Can anyone link me an updated tutorial, or even an open source mod that does so? (I don't need to get the player inventory, I am just trying to display something like a book, for my mod's "about" item)
April 12, 201510 yr Excellent open-source mod: https://github.com/pahimar/Equivalent-Exchange-3 You sir are a god damn hero.
April 12, 201510 yr Author Excellent open-source mod: https://github.com/pahimar/Equivalent-Exchange-3 Thanks I am gonna check that out. But that seems to be using a library (CoFHLib) that is outdated, any help?
April 12, 201510 yr EE3 is for 1.7.10 still, I'm not sure if there are any 1.8 tutorials for GUIs yet but they're pretty similar to 1.7.10 I think
April 13, 201510 yr Yeah, I am not aware of anything much changing for 1.8 with respect to GUIs, or even items (except for the JSON model stuff). What are you trying to do -- just open a GUI when an item is used by the player? Check out my tutorials here: http://jabelarminecraft.blogspot.com/
April 13, 201510 yr I'm using the code from EE3 in 1.8 and it's working perfectly. I think nothing has changed from 1.7 to 1.8. This tutorial from coolAlias is also very helpful: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/mapping-and-modding-tutorials/1571597-forge-1-6-4-1-8-custom-inventories-in-items-and You sir are a god damn hero.
