# Two bullets shot from different points

I have a gun that I want to shoot two bullets: one to a little bit to the left of the player and one a bit to the right. How would I do that?

Construct and spawn 2 entities and simply offset one to right, one to left?

What is the problem, show what you tried.

More:

EntityThrowable has constructor that takes player as shooter. After constructing entity with that construcor you need to get players look vector and move entity by vector orthogonal to players vector. One Entity to left, one to right.

1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.

1) how would I make a new vector orthogonal to the players vector?

2) would I make two new vectors orthogonal to the second vector at each end to figure out where to spawn the bullets?

On the horizontal plane, I think you can use the rotateAroundY() method in Vec3. rotate by 90 or -90 degrees to get orthogonal.

A simple way to move to the left or right is to take the player's look vector, then subtract the vec.zCoord (* some factor) from the player's posX, and add the vec.xCoord (* some factor) to the player's posZ - that will give you a position directly to the right of the player.

Reverse the arithmetic to get a position to the left.

```Vec3 vec3 = player.getLookVec();
float f = 0.15F; // this is usually roughly one block width, depending on context; play with it
double dx = player.posX - (vec3.zCoord * f);
double dz = player.posZ + (vec3.xCoord * f);
// now use dx and dz for your entity's position or whatever else
```

• Wow this looks a lot simpler than I thought it would be. Especially compared to the setup I had to do for capabilities. I'll look at all this and update if I have any issues ty
• Me and a group of friends were trying to get a modpack to work so we can play together. It works for everyone else, except me. At first when I tried to import the modpack, it said "invalid file" but it didn't with anyone else's. The owner of the modpack resent it several times and I still kept getting the same issue, so I opened the modlist and downloaded every single mod by hand. I thought that it would resolve the issue, but instead, it started saying "Forge Modloader Installation Failed" after I created a new installation, so I tried to use a pre-existing modpack, made sure it was the same version "1.20.1, forge version 47.3.0" and swap the mods there, but it still had the same issue, and now none of my modpacks are working at all. They all keep saying that the modloader installation failed. None of us have any idea what to do as we aren't the techiest people. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
