Hello.

I create a spade texture with the center semi-transparent, but the minecraft render with a solid color.

render code:

import net.minecraft.item.ItemStack;

import net.minecraftforge.client.IItemRenderer;

import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11;

public class MtSpadeRender implements IItemRenderer{

@Override

public boolean handleRenderType(ItemStack item, ItemRenderType type) {

// TODO Auto-generated method stub

return false;

}

@Override

public boolean shouldUseRenderHelper(ItemRenderType type, ItemStack item, ItemRendererHelper helper) {

// TODO Auto-generated method stub

return false;

}

@Override

public void renderItem(ItemRenderType type, ItemStack item, Object... data) {

// TODO Auto-generated method stub

}

}

proxy:

import cpw.mods.fml.client.registry.RenderingRegistry;

public class ClientProxy extends ServerProxy{

public void regiterRenderThings(){

}

}

I want the central part of the spade is semi-transparent.

i make the texture usinng photoshop.

I don't know how to do the rendering work properly.

I don't you have to use a custom renderer for this. Try overriding

requiresMultipleRenderPasses()

to return true;

Hi

Take a look at the code for the vanilla stained glass and how they returned a texture with a semi-transparent background. Hope that gives you a basic idea.
