Maybe it's just because I have no idea where I should be looking, but I can't seem to find complete guides on how exactly forge works. Right now, the best tutorials I have found are bedrock miner's. And don't get me wrong, they are by all standards excellent, they are still a work in progress. To be more specific, I am interested in creating server side mods right now, but don't know where to look to learn how to do things like create commands. I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

Most of the time:

1. Think of something

2. Think - "Is this in vanilla? Or maybe something simillar?"

3. Look for keywords using IDE seach.

4. Read tons of code

5. <magic happens>

6. Profit

As for commands (because you asked):

You extend CommandBase or make your own implementation. In:

@EventHandler
public void serverLoad(FMLServerStartingEvent event)
{
// Initialize commands
event.registerServerCommand(new MyCommand());
}

1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.

I really suggest messing up with debug mode.

That way you can experiment with your code and see its effect on the game
