im using this method, and I came across the issue of knowing what one of the integers defines as(What the actual code for it is):

Override
@SideOnly(Side.CLIENT)
public IIcon getIcon(ItemStack stack, int renderPass, EntityPlayer player, ItemStack usingItem, int useRemaining) {

The

int useRemaining

, is confusing me because you can use it in a line of code like this:

int ticksInUse = stack.getMaxItemUseDuration() - useRemaining;

I found this method on the internet for my icons, and im wondering what that integer means in the method, what it defines to, I have already looked through the entire Item class looking for it or other methods used with it.

I mean what is the integers actual vaule?

thank you for your time.

Im serious don't look at it!!

When you set an item as "in use" (like the bow does), you specify the maximum duration of the use (how long the player can hold right click to continue using the item).

The

useRemaining

parameter of

getIcon

is how many ticks of that maximum duration remain. Subtracting the remaining duration from the maximum duration gives you the current use duration (how long the player has been using the item).

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
