Hello, I am new at modding and was trying to get a model to render in the world.

When I load into the game nothing is at the specified location and there is nothing rendered.

Currently I'm rendering the model from the ClientProxy.

In game:

ClientProxy class:

package com.falanor.testmod.proxy;

import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11;

import com.falanor.testmod.init.Items;
import com.falanor.testmod.weapons.Model;

public class ClientProxy extends CommonProxy
{
Model model;

@Override
public void registerRenders()
{
	model = new Model();
	Items.registerRenders();

	renderModelAt(0, 5, 0, 0);
}

public void renderModelAt(double x, double y, double z, float f)
{
	GL11.glPushMatrix();
	GL11.glTranslatef((float)x + 0.5f, (float)y + 0.5f, (float)z + 0.5f);
	GL11.glRotatef(180, 0f, 0f, 1f);
	model.renderModel(0.0625f);
	GL11.glPopMatrix();

	System.out.println("Rendering player at: " + x + ", " + y + ", " + z);
}
}

Model class:

package com.falanor.testmod.weapons;

import net.minecraft.client.model.ModelBase;
import net.minecraft.client.model.ModelRenderer;
import net.minecraft.entity.Entity;

public class Model extends ModelBase
{
//fields
ModelRenderer head;
ModelRenderer body;
ModelRenderer rightarm;
ModelRenderer leftarm;
ModelRenderer rightleg;
ModelRenderer leftleg;

public Model()
{
	textureWidth = 64;
	textureHeight = 32;

	head = new ModelRenderer(this, 0, 0);
	head.addBox(-4F, -8F, -4F, 8, 8, ;

Not to be rude, but: :D

From what I see now I can tell you - you are not new to modding, not even Java, but programming itself. How do you expect that to work? Calling method wont render it constantly, even if - it would still be wrong :P

Only way to tell how it should be done (besides "go look at vanilla") is by writing WHOLE tutorial, and there are alredy plenty of those alredy.

You either want to render a model or you want to make entity/block with some model and let MC handle it for you.

For entities with models - lookup any entity tutorial there is.

You will need Entity, Renderer, Model and:

RenderingRegistry.registerEntityRenderingHandler

For non-entity rendering:

It really depend on what you need. In any case - you NEED to learn how to work with forge events (again - any tutorial on google).

Then get to know client events. They are located in net.minecraftforge.client.event.

1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.
