I'm trying to attach in integer to a player that can be referenced by other items and I'm new to the modding scene, is there a way to do it or would i save it somewhere else, i need it however to be independent to the player so each player has their own value and the item accesses the player who's using its integer.

It sounds like you need

IExtendedEntityProperties

.

coolAlias has a tutorial on the system here. Jabelar has one here.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.

In addition to Choonster's answer: DO NOT use the packet handling method provided in coolAlias's tutorial. It is outdated, and bulky. Use SimpleImpl, docs are here, and a in depth tutorial here.

I am not a cat. I know my profile picture is sexy and amazing beyond anything you could imagine but my cat like features only persist in my fierce eyes. I might be a cat.

I note quite frequently throughout the tutorial that the packet code is old, and link to more recent packet handling tutorials, with a big note:

STOP!!! The packet code below is for 1.6.4 - if you are coding for 1.7.2 or above, please see the actual demo of this tutorial for a current network implementation. You can find it here: https://github.com/coolAlias/Tutorial-Demo/tree/master/src/main/java/tutorial/network

I considered updating the actual packet code in the tutorial, but I consider it medicine against copy / pasting. I can't help it if one cannot be bothered to actually read the tutorial.

I honestly completely missed that part of the tutorial. :P Just thought I'd mention it to him in case he misses it too.

    • The crash points to moonlight lib - try other builds or make a test without this mod and the mods requiring it
    • Do you have shaders enabled? There is an issue with the mod simpleclouds - remove this mod or disable shaders, if enabled
