I want to make it where when I activate a block, it spawns an item above the block.

How would I go about doing that? I'm not too familiar with all the functions and would like to learn more of them so I wont have to ask for help so much.

Override

Block#onBlockActivated

to do something when the block is right clicked.

To spawn an item, create a new

EntityItem

at the appropriate position using the

EntityItem(World worldIn, double x, double y, double z, ItemStack stack)

constructor then spawn in it the world with

World#spawnEntityInWorld

.

BlockPos#up()

will return a

BlockPos

one block above the original position, so you can use this to get the position for the item entity from your block's position.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.

It's spawning twice because it spawns on the server side and the client side. Do a check to make sure it only runs server-side.

if(!world.isRemote){
  //code goes here
}

- Just because things are the way they are doesn't mean they can't be the way you want them to be. Unless they're aspen trees. You can tell they're aspens 'cause the way they are.
