Anon10W1z Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Is there a packet I can send, or something similar, that can notify the server of a right click being sent without the need to right click? For explanation, I am making a mod that shows a separate GUI for playing the Mineplex game Draw My Thing. It works perfectly, but it'd be even cooler if I could draw from that GUI. If I only needed this on single-player I could easily just use world.setBlock(), however I need this to notify the server of a right click. Quote Maker of the Craft++ mod.
Failender Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I tracked some call hierachy, and it seems like the Packet C08PacketPlayerBlockPlacement might be the thing you are looking for, even if if might be complicated using it correctly Quote

Failender Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 This will only work for blocks. Do you want to do that on client or server side? Quote
Failender Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Take a look at the Minecraft class. Check the method rightClickMouse you will find everything you need there Quote

Anon10W1z Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Okay, it looks like Mineplex checks for where the player is looking when I right click. So I now need a way for the player to turn its head to face a specific block. Anyone know how? Quote Maker of the Craft++ mod.
Failender Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 private float epicVariableOne, epicVariableTwo; @SubscribeEvent public void clientTick(ClientTickEvent event) { if(event.phase==Phase.END) return; epicVariableOne+=0.3f; epicVariableTwo+=0.3f; if(Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer!=null)Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.setAngles(epicVariableOne, epicVariableTwo); } (This is part of an MinecraftForge EventBus) Quote

I need to get the variables to line up with a certain block. Quote Maker of the Craft++ mod.
Failender Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Ah im sorry I thought you had trouble with the setting player head part. What you need to do is calculate the vector from your eyes to the block and get the angles from it. player.getPositionEyes gets you the position of the players eyes as Vec3, getting the Vec3 from a BlockPos should be new Vec3(pos). After that its vector math Quote

Failender Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 get the vector you need to look (blockvector-playervector) after that you need to get pitch and yaw from that. https://bukkit.org/threads/tutorial-how-to-calculate-vectors.138849/ Quote

Unfortunately I can't seem to get it to look properly. My code: double dX = Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.posX - DMTMap.STADIUM.secondCorner.getX(); double dY = Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.posY - DMTMap.STADIUM.secondCorner.getY(); double dZ = Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.posZ - DMTMap.STADIUM.secondCorner.getZ(); double yaw = Math.atan2(dZ, dX); double pitch = Math.atan2(Math.sqrt(dZ * dZ + dX * dX), dY) + Math.PI; Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.rotationYaw = (float) yaw; Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.rotationPitch = (float) pitch; Quote Maker of the Craft++ mod.
Failender Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Hmm im not sure. Could you specifiy "not properly? Is it a lot a bit? You are not taking the players eye position, but that shouldnt make that much of a difference Quote
