Trying to get started but gets confused

Hello!

Today I tried to start learning how to mod minecraft.

I was gonna download the minecraft coding pack when it recommend forge, so here I am.

I used this tutorial to install forge:

But it seems really outdated when I look on other stuff. Many tutorials with other ways to set it up & get started.

So, to my question, is there any OFFICIAL how-to-get-started tutorial? That cover from nothing to first basic block?

I would appreciate some links or something how to get started! Thanks in advance

Barely any modded mobs spawning 1.20.1 heavily modded

Also having this issue in a heavily modded custom 1.20 modpack. Have no idea how to fix it either.

[SOLVED] Connection Lost: Cannot invoke "net.minecraft.nbt.CompoundTag.m_128459_(String)"

So how exactly did connectivity help here? I don't see anything in that log specifically pointing to that mod.

Also, I've noticed that this issue seems to happen less when I use Modrinth instead of Prism, in fact I don't remember it happening a single time on Modrinth. I'm also using it on the same PC as the server though so idk if that makes a difference but I did have the issue using Prism on the same PC. I may just switch my kids over to Modrinth and see if it fixes it for them, hopefully I remember to come back and update. 😅

nevermind i fixed it, just had to install the mod: ancore and this fix down below

Make sure you are using Forge 1.19.2 mods
Add the new crash-report

doesnt work, but it always seems to say: Caused by: java.lang.module.ResolutionException: Modules mixinextras.neoforge and MixinExtras
But i dont have a mod called like that, and it always says another mod when i remove the one mentioned, in this case onlyhammers
