This is not a "bash Microsoft", "fanboi" thread. It's a legit question and I'm curious to the answer.

 

Once Forge took off it was and still is the best and easiest way to mod Minecraft. There are a few features I would love to see implemented, (and some seem to be slowly trickling in over time) but overall it's the way to go which should be obvious since every launcher and modpack distributor uses Forge.

 

So the questions are:

 

Why is Forge not actually a part of Minecraft officially?

Would you even want it to be?

If it were, wouldn't it be easier to keep it current with MC releases?

Can someone change the loading progress bars to blue because I prefer it? (Kidding... or am I?)

Although a thought had just crossed my mind:

 

Do you think Forge will continue if an official modding API was to be released?
