I'm trying to add tools that give the player a potion effect when the tool is held in the hand. I've already figured out how to add effects to armor when it is worn, but I can't seem to get tools to work. What exactly do I need to override in the tool's class file?

What would an example of this code look like? Do I need to override this method or just add to it?

I apologize for asking so many questions. I'm new at forge modding.

Also, I would highly suggest in the future making the title of your post a summary of the problem you're having, so that when people are looking at the list of questions, they can determine whether or not they will be able to help you without having to load the page. So, instead of making it "How would I do this?" this post could be titled something like "Making tool add potion effect when held"

- Just because things are the way they are doesn't mean they can't be the way you want them to be. Unless they're aspen trees. You can tell they're aspens 'cause the way they are.
