[1.9.4] Is there a ready to use GUI framework for modders to work with?

Something with basic GUI controls already implemented, like a simplified version of Java Swing or Java AWT or Windows Forms or Windows Presentation Foundation... Something like that, but much simpler of course. Is there an open library with such contents?

Yes, it's called Minecraft...

It has classes like

GuiButton

and

GuiCheckBox

. You can use those in your own GUI instead of making your own.

There is also a library for Minecraft which you can use. It's called Forge...

It adds a simpler way of opening your GUIs, as well as a lot of other utilities which you can use to make your modding life easier.

Seriously now, what do you want more?

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

1.12 -> 1.13 primer by williewillus.

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.

Tabs, DropDown Lists, List Selectors with scroll bars. To name a few.

Look at

GuiContainerCreative#drawTab

and

GuiScrollingList

. Dropdown lists are not in Minecraft right now I think, o you might have to add that yourself.

About that - If I could gather some people to also work on it, I'd love to "rewrite" Java FX to Minecraft - at least some part of it.

If you know FX you know what I am talking about - tree structure, Nodes, Properties, Listeners, Bindings, Events (top-down layered) and most importantly Layouts.

If you think about it - project like that would most likely revolutionize everything that is GUI-based. End product could even end up in Forge itself.

Sadly - one can't really handle all of it.

1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.
