[1.9.4] Lighting bug, light emiting block absorbs and keeps surround light level

Recommended Posts

Hi again so today I encountered a strange lighting bug when I gave one of my blocks the setlightvalue() function

it seams that when the block is created it produces the intended light however if a stronger light soarce, lets say a torch overpowers the block then its lightlevel is increaced to match that level once the torch is removed.

here are some Images to show what I mean

When created, working as intended

Added a torch next to it

Now removed the torch

I have never encountered this before when I was modding for 1.7.10

here is my block code

package armetron.hardlight.blocks;

import net.minecraft.block.Block;
import net.minecraft.block.material.Material;
import net.minecraft.item.ItemBlock;
import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.registry.GameRegistry;

public class LuminiumOre extends Block{

public LuminiumOre() {
	super(Material.ROCK);
	setUnlocalizedName("luminium_ore");
	setRegistryName("luminium_ore");
	setLightLevel(0.3f);
	GameRegistry.register(this);
	GameRegistry.register(new ItemBlock(this), getRegistryName());
}
}

knowing my past luck its probably something simple that I overlooked

    • The crash points to moonlight lib - try other builds or make a test without this mod and the mods requiring it
    • Do you have shaders enabled? There is an issue with the mod simpleclouds - remove this mod or disable shaders, if enabled
    • Maybe you need to create file in assets/<modid>/items/<itemname>.json with content like this:   { "model": { "type": "minecraft:model", "model": "modname:item/itemname" } }
