Hello,

I tried to install forge today.

What I did:

1. deleted the .minecraft folder in %appdata%

2. unistalled java

3. downloaded the latest java 8u20

4. restarted my pc

5. installed latest java

6. started the minecraft exe

7. changed the profile to version 1.8.9 and started minecraft -> The 1.8.9 version was download into the .minecraft/versions folder

8. downloaded forge for 1.8.9 recommanded build "1.8.9 - 11.15.1.1722"

9. started the 1.8.9 - 11.15.1.1722-installer.jar"

10. clicked "Install client" -> The client responded "Succesfully installed client profile forge for version forge 1.8.9 - 11.15.1.1722 into launcher"

11. When I start the minecraft launcher there isn't any forge profile. Also there isn't any forge version to select in the profile settings.

The installer logfile:

EDIT1: I also tried to do that with MC V 1.10.2 and forge "1.10.2 - 12.18.1.2011 " -> Same result

EDIT2: Im using windows 10

I found the reason:

I used a tool called "MC Modinstaller 5.0.7"

This tool is creating a copy of minecraf somewhere. Forge was installed there. (As soon as I start minecraft with that tool it is showing all the versions I tried to install)

Anybody knows how to get rid of this tool?

And now I found a unistall tool for this MC - Modinstaller tool.

What the heck.. it's acting like a virus (it isn't one).

It somehow hides files inside the .minecraft folder... thats why I couldn't install forge

This programm still injects into the forge installer...

Is there something I can do?

The forge installer still doasn't install into the .minecraft folder. It's kinda weird...

Even when I unistall Java and Minecraft. It still injects (I see an green boarder around the installer)
