No way to make models both with translucent and opaque elements

There's no way to properly make a model made out of both translucent and opaque elements without glitching out.

 

Seems like depth testing for translucent elements is done using the model's entire bounding box so MC would get confused sometimes wants to render things inside the model as being under or sometimes over the translucent bits.  It causes glitches.

Disclaimer:  I been told to keep my opinions to myself, to shut up and that I am spreading lies and misinformation or even that my methods are unorthodox and or too irregular. Here are my suggestions take it or leave it.

You can use the

forge:multi-layer

model to combine other models that are rendered in different layers. I explain this in more detail here.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
