Alright so I've been having trouble with block states. I assumed I set everything up right, I've looked at quite a few different ways of doing it but now Im getting this weird error.

Code:

- ModStates.java: http://pastebin.com/kXMa2AVH

- BlockMachine.java: http://pastebin.com/11RegmB4

- .Json File: http://pastebin.com/xSyE5nmK

Error Log: http://pastebin.com/gftJzpFB

I think your block needs to override the createState method associate itself with those two properties.

The debugger is a powerful and necessary tool in any IDE, so learn how to use it. You'll be able to tell us more and get better help here if you investigate your runtime problems in the debugger before posting.

Your

getName()

can't return an uppercase name, as they are not allowed. However, you do pass in a

name

variable to use, but if you look closely, you never use it:

@Override
public String getName(){
    return this.name();
}

You are returning the returned value of the

name()

method instead of returning the

name

field.

In your blockmachine JSON, on line 5 column 6, you are probably a missing comma or closing bracket. If you can't figure it out, post your blockmachine JSON file.
