Hello. I'm a Minecraft player and I want to play with some mods. I'm a MacOs user and I tried to install Forge 1.7.10-installer.jar, but when I double click on the file the decompression utility starts and creates a new folder. I already installed Java Run Environment and JDK version 8_121 and I still have the same problem.
Could you help me with the problem?

(Notice: I download all the installer for the Forge and even the universal one)

Thank you.

I tried that command too and sudo too and I still be nothing.

Could you tell me what version of java do I need?

May that's the problem.

jar- != -jar

You misplaced the ' - ' character.

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.

I already did it. I wrote java -jar without the dash in front of jar and that work.
Thank you very much for your help.
