Sorry if this a duplicate post...the first got lost: Black screen after upgrade

Thanks in advance.

I just upgraded to minecraft 1.4.7.  I installed Forge 6.6.0.497 and I am now getting a black screen after the Mojang (white screen) on Minecraft start up.  I see the FML loading screens, it goes to the Mojang screen and then a black screen.

I even tried a force update of Minecraft and reinstalled Forge.  I have no mods installed.  And yes I deleted the Meta.inf (?) folder.

Where is the error log for Forge?

Any help would be great....

PS: I have installed and was using Forge and Millenaire before with no problems

I have an additional question:  I know I have to delete meta.inf, but which one?  I know I have to delete it from the 'original'/unmodified minecraft.jar file, but do I delete the one that is included with Forge AFTER I copy the files into the minecraft.jar file?

I have tried both ways and I still get the black screen after the Mojang screen.

Only delete the original one inside the vanilla minecraft.jar

We need you to post the contents of your ForgeModLoader-Client.0.log files (located in the .minecraft directory) so we can see what the error is

FINALLY

The ONLY way I could get Forge to work was to delete the ENTIRE .minecraft folder in %appdata%/roaming.  Even a forced reinstall (at the minecraft login screen) didn't work.

I am now playing with Millinaire 4.0  :)

Thanks though....
