Hello!  I'm a mom of an 11 year old boy who loves everything WWII.  He found Flan's Mod and really wanted it.  So, I figured out how to install Forge, I downloaded Flan's Mod and got it all put into the folders but now it is telling me it only runs on MC 1.8 and we have the newest version.  How can I work around this?  I tried installing the 1.8 version but it still doesn't work.  Any ideas?

    Download forge for 1.8, go to launcher and select the profile forge 1.8, run it, go to .minecraft/mods folder, put flans mod jar/zip into it, run minecraft, enjoy.

    so, how do I use the mod now that its there?  I hit the mod button and chose the mod and then hit done but do I now need to go into single player?  Thanks for your help!

    When the mod is in the mods folder it automatically goes into minecraft so yes, go into a singleplayer world and test it out.
