Forge Rarity!

Right i have a block and i want to add a rarity to it. i know its possible as IC2 has done it,

now i'm new to modding and i have no clue how to do this I've looked all over the web to find out how to do this.

i want to make a custom EnumRarity to have my OWN Raritys and i want to be able to add them to block & items.

if anyone can help i would be most grateful!

You can just override getItemDisplayName in your ItemClass and include the ColorCode in there.

 

It's a block not an item, so how would i do it for a block?

Make a custom ItemBlock class and change

    public String getItemDisplayName(ItemStack par1ItemStack)
    {
        return ("" + StringTranslate.getInstance().translateNamedKey(this.getLocalizedName(par1ItemStack))).trim();
    }

to

    public String getItemDisplayName(ItemStack par1ItemStack)
    {
        return ("§<your_color_code>" + StringTranslate.getInstance().translateNamedKey(this.getLocalizedName(par1ItemStack))).trim();
    }

Make a custom ItemBlock class and change

    public String getItemDisplayName(ItemStack par1ItemStack)

        return ("" + StringTranslate.getInstance().translateNamedKey(this.getLocalizedName(par1ItemStack))).trim();
    }

to

    public String getItemDisplayName(ItemStack par1ItemStack)
    {
        return ("§<your_color_code>" + StringTranslate.getInstance().translateNamedKey(this.getLocalizedName(par1ItemStack))).trim();
    }

 

By the way: getItemDisplayName is now called getLocalizedName since 1.5.
