Forge Server not generating its files

Featured Replies

So I've played around with mods for quite some time and now my friend wanted to join me. I decided to make a server. Started the installer up choosing a new folder, the thing installs, I try to start the forge file, nothing happens. Tried updating and reinstalling java and using other versions of Forge and Minecraft but still no result.

Help? Thanks in advance.

forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10-universal in the case of trying with 1.7.10 and through open with > java platform SE binary, the way I usually start forge

1.7.10 is no longer supported on this forum. Update for further support.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.

That though happens also on 1.11, 1.10 etc.

If that logs folder is in the .minecraft one, then the fml-server-latest.log doesn't exist. If it is meant to be in the server folder, then you didn't get my problem. It doesn't generate any folders. The loading circle shows up for a few seconds and that's it.

How do you do that? Sorry for my newbish questions, but it's the first time i try running a forge server.

It worked when tried starting the server file that way, thanks for that! Though everywhere on the net says first to start the forge file. If I tried to start the server file instead, it would say that it didn't find its server properties file.

Having the same issue. Would love to fix it and was planning to experiment more with a clean reinstall, but files.minecraftforge.net seems to be down.

Edit: Ninja'd. So the command line approach works, eh? I'll try that when I can grab another server. Thanks.

What is the "server file"? You should always run the forge jar.

By server file I meant minecraft_server.1.7.10 and by forge file forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10-universal.

Edit: Just realised I started vanilla server, fixed it by running the forge one again (first time trying to run it through cmd failed somehow)
