So a few moments ago I opened minecraft using forge and my custom skin didn't show, instead my charecter looks like alex, which is weird because a few days ago didn't happen and keeps happeing everytime I launch the game. It happen after playing with fabric for a few days and then playing again on the same forge instalation and I removed all the fabric mods from the mods folder before using forge again. Right now I only have a few mods installed which are Embeddium, Oculus, ModernFix, Ferritecore, Noisium, EMF, ETF, Sophisticated Backpacks, Antique Atlas 4 and their dependencies. If someone knows how to fix this I would be really grateful. (Also add that I play in the official minecraft launcher and the version of forge am I using is 1.20.1 -forge-47.3.0 and also am using a few resource packs but I was using the exact same ones with fabric and my skin worked fine)

Not really sure what you can do if the --safeMode doesn't work, to be honest. Evidently just starting the server (I assume you ran it once you added forge/mods) was enough to embed those datapacks into your save. Hopefully there's something that can be done for you, and someone will chime in with a solution! Good luck!

yeah but here's the thing; i didn't get into the world with the mods on, i realized i had to have the mods installed on the client and reverted it back to vanilla, and even then i tried to boot it up on safe mode in vanilla, still didn't work.
