Hi, I'm successfully using forge for 1.8.9 of minecraft on a Windows 10 computer with the hypixel mod. I would like to install forge for 1.7.2 and mods. When I install 1.7.2, and select client, forge says it installed successfully. However, when I open Minecraft, forge for 1.7.2 is not in the list for versions when making a new profile. I've stopped and started Minecraft as well as restarted my computer. What else should I try to get the 1.7.2 (or basically a second version for forge) to be found?

How do I verify that 1.7.2 (or any other version of forge) is recognized by Minecraft -- other than looking at the versions in the profile version list? Is there a file that I could manually edit/change?

If someone else comes across this problem, here is what I tried -- one of which fixed it:

 

1) run install as admin but change where client installs back to user's profile appdata directory

2) unblock file via file properties
