I've done what I thought would fix this:

reinstalling java jre AND jdk

setting _JAVA_OPTIONS

setting JAVA_HOME

etc.

Nothing has worked.

I've got 12gb of RAM - 8gb free. So memory should not be an issue.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

EDIT - I've also tried increasing the max heap stack in the gradle.properties file

    I've tried that however I get an error saying that gradle could not reserve enough space for the 3gb object heap that's been pre-defined in gradle.properites.
