I'm using Forge 1.12.2-14.23.1.2555 and ItemPickupEvent#pickedUp is not deprecated.  Which Forge version are you using?

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

1.12 -> 1.13 primer by williewillus.

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.

the latest for 1.12 (1.12.2 - 14.23.1.2589) and pickedUp is in fact deprecated. :/

I'll try using EntityItemPickupEvent instead and see if it works.

There are new methods in ItemPickupEvent, called ItemPickupEvent#getStack and ItemPickupEvent#getOriginalEntity. ItemPickupEvent#getOriginalEntity will return the same thing as ItemPickupEvent#pickedUp and  ItemPickupEvent#getStack returns the stack which was picked up.

ItemPickupEvent::getOriginalEntity#getItem()#getItem(); isn't working when compared to the correct item picked up :/

I'll try ItemPickupEvent::getStack();
