Forge not working properly

Hi, I installed forge and multiple mods however, whenever I try to run minecraft forge it runs like vanilla. When you run forge it's supposed to have loading bars and a forge symbol in the bottom right. Additionally, when it loads there is no "mods" tab in the main menu and it is just vanilla minecraft with or without mods in the mods folder. If anyone knows what the problem is or how to fix it, I would be greatly appreciative.

Note that when you use the Forge installer with the vanilla launcher it creates a new Launcher profile that must be selected.

If that is not the case please tell us how you installed Forge and how you are launching the game, with a log from the installer if possible.

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.
