I have been trying to install any current version of forge but every time i get it installed the game freezes just before the new world is created or the existing world is loaded. I have tried allocating more ram using the -Xmx command in the advanced settings and have tried uninstalling minecraft completely multiple times and nothing seems to work. I've attached the crash report and the log from my most recent crash. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

How much memory do you have on your machine?

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

Taking a look at the arguments that the launcher is giving your minecraft instance, the last argument wins so:

  Quote

JVM Flags: 9 total; -XX:HeapDumpPath=MojangTricksIntelDriversForPerformance_javaw.exe_minecraft.exe.heapdump -Xmx3072M -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=16M -Xmx256M

Expand

I'm assuming the first one is the one you put in and that looks to be enough, however there is a second argument that is overruling it and setting the memory to not even enough to run vanilla. Take a look in your settings and remove the one from the end.

After a bit more research i found that java itself was using -Xmx256 as the system default. this can be changed by going to system> advanced settings> environmental variables and changing the -Xmx256 to a larger number.
