Hey Guys,

Not too sure if this qualifies as an issue for this forum but here it goes. I recently bought a server from a host wanting to play FTB Revelations. Now the host's version is 1.8 but I want to play 2.0 or 2.1, so I've taken the time to upload the files myself to the host in hopes the server would work. Every time I start the server i get an error after a bit of loading and it shuts down. I'm using their version of forge, the recommended build. I've attempted upgrading their forge file and it still throws the same error. If I run if from my PC is seems to work for some reason.

Here is the crash log: https://pastebin.com/ejqB57KC

Once again I'm sorry if it's not a forge issue.

Cheers,

Nic

It appears the issue is IC2 is trying to save its configuration file but is apparently being denied access to the filesystem in the desired location.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

This is an issue with the host you will have to contact them. It is a common practice among hosts and server owners including myself to prevent read and write access outside of a specified directory for security reasons.
