Posted December 17, 20186 yr Can someone please Explain!! I'm trying to make a block that when you are walking on it gives a jump boost.how do I fix this or do it correctly? eclipse is giving me this error: The method onEntityWalk(World, BlockPos, EntityLivingBase) of type JumpPad must override or implement a supertype method @Override public void onEntityWalk(World worldIn, BlockPos pos, EntityPlayer player) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub super.onEntityWalk(worldIn, pos, player); if(!worldIn.isRemote) { player.addPotionEffect(new PotionEffect(Potion.getPotionById(8), 200, 4)); } } Edited December 17, 20186 yr by Riverbanminer forgot to add this bit

Did you change the method signature? Did you copy /paste the code from somewhere else? If you did the name of the method could have changed About Me Spoiler My Discord - Cadiboo#8887 My Website - Cadiboo.github.io My Mods - Cadiboo.github.io/projects My Tutorials - Cadiboo.github.io/tutorials Versions below 1.14.4 are no longer supported on this forum. December 17, 20186 yr Knowing java is a bit of a pre-requisite for Modding. Googling the relevant part of the error 33 minutes ago, Riverbanminer said: override or implement a supertype method Will probably tell you what you need to do. By method signature I mean the name, parameters, keywords (access / static / final - public in your case) and return type (void in your case). Did you change it at all? Does the class that you’re extending provide that method? December 17, 20186 yr Author yes i did change the signature and realize thats probable the issue. im going to go total noob in modding and i think im going to scrap that chunk of code for the moment and my goal is to check if the player is on the block and if so apply a potion effect to the player so would i use onEntityColideWithBlock() or onEntityWalk()?
December 17, 20186 yr I think you probably want onEntityWalk. I can’t see anything obviously wrong with your code (Your potion effect looks a bit odd, but I have no experience with potions), but you can’t change the signature of a method & still override it, that’s not how it works About Me Spoiler My Discord - Cadiboo#8887 My Website - Cadiboo.github.io My Mods - Cadiboo.github.io/projects My Tutorials - Cadiboo.github.io/tutorials Versions below 1.14.4 are no longer supported on this forum.
