Posted February 12, 20196 yr Hi guys, I'm trying to have I idea of the duration required for reverse engineering obfuscated/stripped code. As some of you guys did it on minecraft, does anyone have some time spent versus code lines or equivalent values to share, going from stripped code to readable code with normal variables/classes/procedures names ? Thanks all.

Thanks all. Getting to where we are with the deobfucation for minecraft has taken 7 years and thousands of people. Minecraft is always changing as it updates though, so this isn’t an accurate representation of how long it would take to reverse engineer something else. If you’re trying to reverse engineer something you should already be familiar with its concepts and common implementations of them. As such there isn’t any accurate time spent -> lines deobfuscated conversion.
