World Edit Will Not Work

TechyTrip

Recommended Posts

Right now I'm using Forge 1.12.2. I'm trying to use the copy and paste mechanics and It will not work. I just break the blocks. I am using the wooden axe like I always have. Has it changed? I've tried deleting and re downloading and putting it in different folders in the minecraft folder section. I'm stumped. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Please provide your debug.log

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

  1. Make sure you have the correct version of Forge installed (some packs are heavily dependent on one specific build of Forge)
  2. Make a launcher profile targeting this version of Forge.
  3. Set the launcher profile's GameDir property to the pack's instance folder (not the instances folder, the folder that has the pack's name on it).
  4. Now launch the pack through that profile and follow the "Mojang Launcher" instructions above.

Posting your mod as a GitHub Repo:

Spoiler

When you have an issue with your mod the most helpful thing you can do when asking for help is to provide your code to those helping you. The most convenient way to do this is via GitHub or another source control hub.

When setting up a GitHub Repo it might seem easy to just upload everything, however this method has the potential for mistakes that could lead to trouble later on, it is recommended to use a Git client or to get comfortable with the Git command line. The following instructions will use the Git Command Line and as such they assume you already have it installed and that you have created a repository.

  1. Open a command prompt (CMD, Powershell, Terminal, etc).
  2. Navigate to the folder you extracted Forge’s MDK to (the one that had all the licenses in).
  3. Run the following commands:
    1. git init
    2. git remote add origin [Your Repository's URL]
      • In the case of GitHub it should look like: https://GitHub.com/[Your Username]/[Repo Name].git
    3. git fetch
    4. git checkout --track origin/master
    5. git stage *
    6. git commit -m "[Your commit message]"
    7. git push
  4. Navigate to GitHub and you should now see most of the files.
    • note that it is intentional that some are not synced with GitHub and this is done with the (hidden) .gitignore file that Forge’s MDK has provided (hence the strictness on which folder git init is run from)
  5. Now you can share your GitHub link with those who you are asking for help.

I got forge from here - https://files.minecraftforge.net/

I got World Edit from here - https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/worldedit

I downloaded both and put them in my Minecraft Mods folder. my logs folder in my .minecraft folder is just a bunch of winrar files for each time i've played. Is that what you need? I looked at the EAQ and can't find the exact spot it says to go to.

So you're saying you installed Forge by making a "mods" folder and putting Forge in it?

Yeah putting Forge in the mods folder does nothing, back to the logs there should be one that's not a compressed file (it might just be called debug if Windows is set to hide file extensions)

No debug? Ok is there an fml-client-latest?

If not, then you're not running Forge, or you're using the Twitch launcher.

I did not see that either. The file just said "latest".

I re-dowloaded forge and tried that and it still doesn't work with world edit that I have. I downloaded the 1.12.2 - 14.23.5.2814 version which looks like the recommended version. Is it with the World Edit that is not working right or both Or am I just that big of an idiot? It worked before. Now I don't know what changed to make it not work.

Have you selected a Forge launcher profile?

What the installer does is add itself as an available Minecraft Version, a launcher profile then needs to be told to use this version.

    • why when I launch the forge version of minecraft in full screen and turn on screen recording, only the first static image of the launch is recorded and the gameplay itself is not recorded
    • As a software developer from Sakha Republic, Russia. and like many in my field, I am quite tech-savvy. However, I recently became a victim of a cryptocurrency scam that cost me more than 10 million in my currency. The experience was not only financially devastating but also emotionally draining. I reported the crime to the authorities, hoping for a swift resolution, but I was frustrated and lacked results. It felt like I was in a maze with no exit. Feeling stuck and desperate, I turned to fellow developers for advice. One of them recommended a company called Muyern Trust Hacker. Initially, I was hesitant; I had heard mixed reviews about recovery services and I was concerned about falling victim to another scam. However, after speaking with their team, I was impressed by their professionalism and the clarity of their recovery methods. The team at Muyern Trust Hacker was dedicated and responsive, providing regular updates on their progress. It was refreshing to work with professionals who genuinely cared about my situation and were committed to helping me recover my lost funds. To my astonishment, they managed to recover most of my lost funds. The experience taught me valuable lessons about the risks of cryptocurrency investments and the importance of vigilance in the digital space.
